Sulphur Woman Charged with 180 Counts of Non-Consensual Disclosure of a Private Image

On Monday, December 28, 2020, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Sarah D. Pharis, 32, 311 W. Elizabeth Street, Sulphur, LA, after an investigation revealed she was responsible for sending out numerous nude photographs of an acquaintance. During the investigation, it was learned Pharis had access to the victim’s personal information and mailed out degrading letters about him to at least 30 individuals, including the nude photographs. It was also learned Pharis traveled to Texas to mail the letters. She was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 150 counts of non-consensual disclosure of a private image. She was released the same day on a $75,000 bond set by Judge Sharon Wilson.

Woman charged with murder in November death of 5-year-old boy in Anchorage

Print article A 29-year-old Anchorage woman was charged with murder Wednesday in the killing of her 5-year-old son, who was stabbed and found dead at her home in late November, according to charging documents. Charging documents detailed erratic behavior from Marley Joli Marque who is also accused of stabbing her brother and multiple run-ins with police in the days leading up to the discovery of her son’s body. Police have not identified the child. Marque’s first encounter with police during that time frame occurred early on Nov. 18. Officers were called to the area outside Marque’s home on the 4200 block of Reka Drive because a partially clothed man was walking in the street with a stab wound to his upper body, according to charges.

Appeals court overturns Bossier City man s manslaughter conviction

The 2 nd Circuit Court of Appeal concluded evidence presented by the Bossier District Attorney’s Office to convict Patrick Harris, 44, was “insufficient for a rational trier of fact to have found beyond a reasonable doubt that the homicide was not committed by Patrick in self-defense.” Patrick Harris A message seeking comment from District Attorney Schuyler Marvin was not returned.  Bossier Parish District Judge Parker Self convicted Harris in a 2019 bench trial in the March 2016 shooting death of Christopher Flowers. Harris faced up to 40 years in prison but was sentenced to 39 years. The district attorney’s office said after the trial Harris was unsuccessful in proving the shooting was in self-defense. There was evidence the two men, who worked together at AT&T in Shreveport, were together the night of the incident, which discredited Harris account, according to the district attorney s office.
